Batavus has been turning out granny-style bikes for quite some time now, but this time around, the Dutch bike company decided to go for a more design-savvy route. With urban lifestyle and functionality as motivation, the company called upon the VanBerlo design studio for help on designing the Batavus Utility Bike, or BUB for short. Using the inspiration of a bent paperclip as the frame of the bike, the new contemporary design gets extra chunky tired and a laid back seating composition. With the front luggage rack, it’s a perfect urban bike. No need to talk our word for; just last week the BUB received the IF Gold Award, one of the most prestigious international product design awards.
